unsure exactly what its called, but my 27" display snapped at the internal bracket where the stand mounts to the display. its a clean break where all the screws live. hopefully, the picture will help.
Apple is trying to quote me $700 to fix but im hoping a less expensive alternative is available.

Its a bit of work to get to follow this guide: Apple Thunderbolt Display LCD Replacement once the display is offer its self explanatory taking the old part out.
