''When installing a new optical drive, the socket holding the thermal sensor connector came loose from the logic board. Is there anyway to repair this?

Ouch! Thats real bad!

You managed to rip the pads right off and it appears one of the top anchor points clips is still soldered to the logic board completely pulled out of the case.

This is a tricky repair as you need to follow the trace lines to find a point to put a jumper to reconnect to the socket connecter (new) and get the socket anchored back to the logic board.

Can it be done yes, but its going to take someone with good micro-soldering skills and access to the schematics and board views to trace it out.
