Can I fix just one key that is not working

Hi,

The keyboard works fine except for the p key. I have checked all the possible causes mentioned in various posts and I even took it apart and put the hinge back together after cleaning the area with a q tip and a bit of alcohol. The key still does not work. What could it be? I see that in the middle of the housing is a little silicone cup. I was wondering how can one know if that one has gone bad. What else could it be? I also have the keyboard viewer on (so I can add any p I need) and when I click on any key it gets highlighted, but the p does not. It means it is not connecting.

If indeed is this little cup’s fault, then I don’t know how to replace it. Most videos just show how to replace the hinge but not the cup.

I would appreciate some suggestions. Thank you very much

See if replacing the part does it.

Figure out which key assembly you have, then dig down to ‘Clips, Domes & Sets’ group for the part in the listing.
