MacBook Retina 2016 firmware lock logic board replacement?

Hi,

I have recently bought a secondhand Retina Macbook 2016 12 inch model. I wanted to clean install this thing and saw that a firmware password was set.

Unfortunately the seller does not know it anymore and the original receipt can not be found.

The only option I see at this moment is replacing the complete logic board. Is this the best option, or do I have alternatives?

To be clear: This is not stolen, but legitimately bought. I have the charger, box, MacBook with matching serial number of the box, and a partly visible photo of the receipt. It is zoomed in and the serial number can be seen on there, but it is not enough for an Apple Certified seller unfortunately.

Any tips/options?

Sorry there really is no options other than replacing the logic board MacBook 12" Retina (Early 2016) Logic Board

Maybe best to wait until Apple opens the Apple Stores to give them a try.

Thanks for the tip, but 500 euros is a bit too much for me. Might as well buy an other second hand and then I have 1 for parts and 1 working.

Seller is not co-operating at this moment so I'm screwed.
