It’s been awhile since I’ve done one. If you are good in threading a needle then you can replace the cable without pulling the bezel off
The displays logic board is held by two screws on the frame and the cable is just a clip on the logic board. After fully removing the display assembly and being careful you can just slide off the clutch cover to get to the cable and the hinge assembly and then carefully lift the tape covering the connector.
Review this vid to get a better idea MacBook Air 11" LCD replacement. You shouldn’t need tape if you use a heat gun (don’t melt the rubber!)
I would use the 4mm if you need it.

It's the Mid 2012 Macboook Air 11". I'll have to dismount the bezel to get to the display cable and will need to remount it. I I'll need new tape to remount it.
