This is a sign of a messed up LCD panel with the column driver logic on the faint columns. Either you had a liquid spill on the display which is effecting the driver logic or the LCD panel was bad from the factory.
Given the age of the system I don’t think Apple will replace the screen under warranty so that leaves you with a choice of fixing it on your own with a new screen or having someone with the skills do it for you.
