Trouble shooting screen discoloration, distortion at certain angles

MacOS Mojave version 10.14.6.

The screen becomes extremely discolored at most angles of alignment, but can improve with pressure and occasionally finding a "sweet" spot angle. However, this is only a temporary fix and the screen will revert to distortion if moved again.
