Why is windows 7 always crashing

So i have this dell latitude E5400 so its windows 7 ultimate we bought it at 2012 for me by my dad i know its old but it works perfectly si my dad bought disks for installation of windows 7 rog (custon made OS) it works perfectly then i installed minecraft at it it works fine but moving is a bit laggy tho i got a little carried away by playing the laptop itself overheated then the next day it works still fine but because of school i have to upgrade it to windows 10 because of alot of homeworks i didnt have time to use it then one year later (its 2020) i turned on my laptop and booted windows 10 then i played minecraft about 2 hours later my laptop suddenly shut down and restarted then i got a warning thing i guess it says “no bootable device detected please reseat hard drive”. Then i did what is says soo i opened the cover and put it out and put it back again after that it booted fine and another 2hrs it happened again.

Hi @justalvin

I would suggest you to do diagnostic test.

I think this model dell has a diagnostic test inbuilt

When you power on the computer press F12… check for any diagnostic options…

or perhaps ….

Press D  + Power Button For Diagnostic

Press FN + Power On

check especially on the hard disk

if hdd is having issues, suggest you to get SSD for a long term replacement and excellent performance.

OP needs a SATA II compatible SSD for this - the Fixed III drives don't work in this as it's a SATA II system. Should also support SATA I just in case.
