Yes it is. Here is a link to upgrade parts for your unit. Note they list a number of drive possibilities but you don't have to buy from them if you can find a less expensive drive. Good luck.

To add to the conversation, you can use any 2.5'' SATA drive, in fact, I used my DV9000 drive with XP media center to oust vista and it IS possible, if I am given a Vista laptop or desktop, I will do a guide
