Poor reception on G7

So, i bought this phone prior to the huge signal issues were exposed. I love the repairability and huge battery, and would like to fix it. However, i haven’t found the answer anywhere: Why is this phone so bad with the reception? Is it all models? Is it just a batch of faulty antenna modules? Where can i buy a fixed antenna module? Any russian hacks i can try?

Like you I used to have serious issues with a different model Motorola phone (E4 Plus). I later discovered it was due to terrible support in my area for GSM sim carded phones not my carriers fault. I got new CDMA sim cards later from my carrier for just a few dollars. Problem solved both the E4 Plus and my newer X4 both work perfectly now. Who is your carrier and what type sim card is it? On my android 9 device is: settings -> Network&Internet->Mobile network -> Advanced

Looking there you should see which of the two types of sim cards you have unless you are on a different android version to mine.
