2nd-generation magnetic AC power adapter for MacBook products, first released in 2012. Not compatible with previous generation systems. Available in 45W, 60W, and 85W versions.

Replacing the T-Shaped pin with new one bought from China

Hi,

My MegaSafe2 adapters’ magnetic pin (T-shaped) has springes and I can see some of the pins are damaged due to short-circuit (probably water damage). Although the adapter works perfectly fine, one of the pins is stuck inside the magnetic clip. So every time I have press the magnetic clip to the MacBook charging point so it will touch and start charging. I decided to buy the new cable from eBay and I was thinking to replace it. However, I’m not sure if it is a good idea.

As I know if just replace the cable and not do anything with adapter then it should be fine! am I right?

Will it be an issue in the future with my mac if I use this cable?

Please guide me here! Thanks!

If this charger has been previously shorted out I would not trust it to not damage my Mac.

I have repaired several of the cable but never one that shows signs of electrical damage.
