MacBook Pro 4,1 No wifi when updating past Snow Leopard

I have a MacBook Pro 4,1 that doesn’t show the wifi card when you update the laptop past Snow Leopard. I have tried reinstalling the OSX El Capitan and Mavericks, but the card will not be detected. This is just strange to me.

OS X 10.11.x El Capitan is the highest your system will support.

The original 802.11b AirPort board is not supported (the driver is not available in the newer OS-X releases), you’ll need the newer AirPort Extreme board which was offered as an update offering 802.11n support (a, b & g support as well)
