Will not power up

This one was working fine. It was shut down and in the morning I got nothing.

I disconnect the mag-safe adapter, disconnect the battery from the logic board. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Now plug the battery back in then the mag-safe and did not get a spontaneous reboot. The keyboard lights occasionally, but no post tone. It will shut down the keyboard lights when I press the the location of the normal start. The fans do not come on. @danj any ideas? This machine has not been worked on by anyone else, I did the initial system installation and data migration in late 2016. It has had no problems till now. I’m pretty sure it would also have Symantec anti-virus on it. I left it plugged in overnight, so I assume the battery is charged.

@mayer - MagSafe?? This series uses a USB-C power adapter.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@danj of course it uses a USB-C. But it's not a mag-safe or I could see if it was charging, but I can't. Thanks for improvement Apple.

@mayer - Just making sure we're betting on the right horse here ;-}

When you open the lid do you see the battery icon when you have the power adapter plugged in?

You may want to get a USB-C power meter as I find the display fails to show up when I would have expected it to. Satechi USB-C Power Meter Tester. I wish Apple had given us a simple charging LED.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

@danj I see nothing when I open it. It was only when I did the battery disconnect and reconnect that the keyboard lite up. Yes, I bought a power meter tester several months ago when you recommended one. I will give it a shot in the morning.
