Replacing the battery requires heat, and soldering/desoldering. I plan on fixing mine either today or tomorrow. There is a good tutorial on YouTube. You have to make sure you get the battery for the Soundsport Free Wireless, not the Soundsport Free. They aren’t interchangeable as far as I’ve found.

Did you succeed? I got replacement batteries (Varta CP 1454 A3) via ebay. Now very anxious about doing the repair because I am still a repair rookie. Especially the re-soldering of the battery looks hairy to me.

But I just don't want to throw away earbuds which I just bought 2,5 years ago.

@codamo Sorry for the late reply Martin. I ruined my earbuds. I pried on the wrong place and destroyed my volume controls. Be very careful where you pry and how much pressure you use. Without that setback, I would have been successful.

Hi, how long did you applayed heat and at which temperature? Thank you very much in advance

I used the iOpener on the earbuds. I left it on for about a minute, but it was still tough to remove.

Hi, does anybody know alternative point to solder battery to board? I managed to break terminal from board.
