HDD shows in utilities but not when installing OS X
Newly installed HDD shows up on Disk Utilities but not when I need to select it to install OS X. Do I need to format the HDD? Erase the HDD?

If OS.X isn’t detecting a drive, it means that there’s no partition for OS.X to install to. Format the drive, and try to install again.
Good luck!

Erase the drive and Format the drive GUID, MacOSX extended (Journaled), then install your system. Since we don't know your exact model, we can't tell you your maximum system.
