Apple cinema adapter is not visable

Hi.

I have some problems with my Cinema 27 inch screen.

The adapter that I have to attach my stand on, is inside the screen and I don't know how to get it out?

There is a spring in the top to the hole, but nothing happens when I push it.

Can somebody please help me?

So you already took off the foot stand and didn’t wedge the hinge so it retracted on you is that right?

You do have the needed VESA mount right?

Yes that's right. The hinge is located inside the screen now.

I have the standard apple stand for the screen.

You’ll need to find away to snag the tang so you can pull on it. It’s been awhile I’ve needed to fix a hinge or mount the VESA plate. I remember using a curved Upholstery Sewing needle like this the first and only time I lost the tang ;-{

Then snaking in a strong cord so I can pull on it. The next is pressing on the spring latch moving it out of the way.

Here’s a vid showing the location of the spring Apple VESA Mount Adapter Unboxing and Install Jump to 1:16 to see it.

HI Dan

Thanks for your big help:-)

I remember that there is a little screw in the middle of the tang.

Should I use the needle on this and pull it towards me, while pressing on the spring, to get the tang to jump out again?

What ever works for you!

I used the two end holes (L&R) threading the needle through and then pulled through a thicker blind cord so I could get a good grip.
