Replacement home button not working.

I have been working on an iPad Mini 4 for a week or two now. I originally replaced the screen with a new digitizer, moved the sleep/wake sensor over, but then I was unable to get the home button to work.

Thinking that the button was damaged when the screen was broken, I ordered a new replacement home button. I just installed the replacement to find out that it is also not working.

I have tried everything I could read online. I have reseated the holding bracket several times thinking it wasn’t in the proper place. It’s fully in place, it clicks, it has no give when pressed, but its just not registering.

Is there possibly anything I may have missed? Any responses will be thoroughly tried.
