Try starting up from your original system installation disk by inserting the disk and holding down the C key on start up. Then run Disk Utilities and see if you can repair your drive.
Back up your drive to an external source ASAP as it may be failing and need a replacement.

Si tu sistema solo muestra el logotipo de Apple, deberías ver una barra debajo que se alarga (de izquierda a derecha). ¿Ves la mitad del camino?
If your system only shows the Apple logo you should see a bar underneath it which gets longer (left to right) Do you see it getting half way?

@danj There's no loading bar in the older versions of Mac Os that machine can run..remember the old spinning wheel ? ;)

If I remember correctly Mavericks was the last version with the spinning wheel.
Sometimes I ask questions to help define what the OS release is so don't always assume ;-}

@danj Well, I can't say what Yosemite shows when loading, but Mavericks is still a spinning wheel Os for sure, and that's by far out of reach of any 2006 Macbook, so, no loading bar for sure :)
