Do I need to apply thermal paste to the iMac G4?

After removing the bottom of the iMac G4, do I need to apply thermal paste to the heat sink? It is not mentioned in the guide, but I’ve seen youtube videos saying it needs it. I already closed it, but I am wondering if I need to open it up again and apply the paste.

Thanks in advance!

If you didn't remove or touch the heatsink you do not need to re-apply thermal paste.

However, due to the age of this machine re-applying thermal paste may help with some of the thermal woes.
