which adhesive tape to use for SSD replacement?

Hi,

I want to upgrade my 128Gb SSD but there is a black protection tape over it. I’d like to use a new tape when I replace my old SSD with the new 1T SSD…

I saw that the original tape is a multi layer one.

So what do you think ? which tape should I use ? polymide ?

Thanks.

Polymide tape should be fine.

If your careful you can lift off and reuse the original tape. It helps protect the connections under it.

Tesa tape is quite fine for this task too.

@ajcooke01 - Sorry no, this is where a single sided tape is needed not a double sided.
