Power on sans battery?

I’m trying to determine what component has failed in this MacBook Pro. If I successfully remove the battery, and install all the other components, then plug the computer in, will power on normally?

The only reason I haven’t just tried to do this is for fear of damaging the computer in some way (these Touch Bar MBP’s are sketchy and delicate).

Can you give us the back history on what happened here. Also give us a deeper rundown what happens when you try to start up your system.

I would buy a USB-C power meter so you can get a better idea whats happening. Type C Power Meter Tester for USB-C Devices.

FYI - You can't run your system without the battery physically connected.
