Battery not holding a charge

Hi!

I purchased last week the battery replacement kit from iFix for my Mid 2012 MBP. Swap went smooth, just like the article explains it. However, I've noticed that after the battery is fully charged. it doesn't hold the charge. I left the laptop with about 80% last night, shut it off, when I turned it back on this morning, it immediately dropped to 6%.

Is there a reset or a software step I have to take after the new battery is installed? Thank you for your help in advance!

You can try a SMC reset. https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht201295

Dud battery. Was it doing the same thing prior? If not, get this battery swapped. Dud batteries happen.
