@goodharbor122 we can't fix it for you. We are volunteers that help others to fix their own devices. In the case of your Kindle, I recommend that you totally disassemble it using these guides Amazon Kindle Oasis 8th Gen Motherboard Replacement Then clean every part with some 90%+ isopropyl alcohol. That includes the cables, connectors etc. Use something like this guide Repairing iPhone Liquid Damage to see how to clean a device. The guide was written for an iPhone but the same pretty much applies to any device. After you clean it and have it dried, replace the battery and then reassemble. Only then can you evaluate your Kindle for any other damage.

It happened to me because I used it in the swimming pool (underwater....) and next week started to frozen and finally didnt respond.
I put it in a dehumidifier (it can be a single sealed box with a dehumidifying tablet that you can buy for ~€2/$2) and leave it for at least 48 hours, and now It works again
(the first few minutes it may be a little slow, but then it will be fine, like the first day).
Do not do as other people say of using a hair dryer, it can even be dangerous (the back is made of aluminum, so it can hurt your hand when it is hot, like it happened to me :-( )
