iPhone won’t charge/communicate with computer.

Recently replaced the battery in my iPhone 6 and a new problem popped up. The iPhone will not charge through a USB port (computer or stereo) but will charge with most (but not the low amp) usb wall chargers. It will also not communicate with the computer, the computer does not see the iPhone at all.

The lightning cable is not the problem. Could the new battery be causing the communication issue?

Most likely what you are experiencing is a Tristar (U2) IC failure. This would require Microsoldering and not a DYI type of job. If you need more information feel free to post back...but I've seen this and repaired it on countless Iphones and from what you describe, I would guess that's what is wrong. Back up your Data ASAP in case it powers off and will not power back on.

I’m facing heavy battery drain issue, if I replace u2 ic will it solve the problem??

1st, connect to 3u tools and check battery health... could just need a battery. If battery is ok, check the charging voltage to see what it is delivering to the swi charging circuit prior to changing ic's.

hi i have a similar issue my iphone is stuck on a boot loop while only connected to charger but after a minute it would power on saying it has 1% it would jump later to a 100 but would soon turn back off and repeat i have another se so i tried its battery and turned on without connecting to a charger and it shows up at 1% seconds later showing at 2 or 3% but few minutes longer would turn off and restart i tried connecting to a computer but it does not detect it nor charge it using both batteries

in battery health section it says service and no percentage health available

the device is on 12.2 but i cant update it as it says requesting update and it restarts every few minutes

i feel like all my roads are block can someone give me an advice on what to do

The most common reason why your iPhone won’t connect to iTunes or its not communicating with your computer is that the device driver isn’t working properly; or the one of the device drivers is missing from your computer.

On a PC, the first thing you need to do is to open Device Manager. You’ll find Device Manager in Control Panel, but the easiest way to do this is to click on the search bar on your computer and type “Device Manager”.

After you open Device Manager, look for Universal Serial Bus controllers and click on the small triangle icon just to the right. A dropdown menu will open and you should see Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.

If you see Apple Mobile Device USB Driver but your iPhone won’t connect to iTunes, the driver probably needs to be updated or repaired. Right-click on Apple Mobile Device USB Driver and three options should appear: Update Driver Software…, Disable, and Uninstall.

If you see an option to Enable, click that and your problem should be solved. At some point, the driver was disabled, so enabling it again will fix the problem. if you don't see enable read below:

Uninstall And Reinstall The Driver

I have found that uninstalling and reinstalling the driver is the easiest way to solve driver issues. The driver will only appear if your iPhone is plugged into your computer, so make sure your iPhone is plugged in before you look for this driver.

Click Uninstall and Windows will remove the driver from the list of Universal Serial Bus controllers. Next, unplug your iPhone and plug it back in. When you do this, your computer will automatically recognize your iPhone and reinstall an up-to-date version of the driver.

An out-of-date driver is a very common reason why an iPhone won’t connect to iTunes, so this should fix the problem. Open iTunes and look for the iPhone icon to see if your iPhone is connected. Make sure to look at your iPhone and click “Trust” to make sure it shows up.

Important note:

It’s very important that you tap Trust on your iPhone, or it won’t communicate with your computer at all. At this point, if your iPhone is showing up in iTunes, then you’re all set! If your iPhone still doesn’t show up, keep reading.

Choose The “Update Driver Software…” Option If You Can

If you choose Update Driver Software… after right-clicking on Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, you’ll see two options: Search automatically for updated driver software and Browse my computer for driver software.

It’s not a driver issue. Other iPhones connect just fine to the computer and I’ve tried multiple computers. The problem is also present wen using the USB port on a stereo deck and well as low amp (0.5A) chargers. — Max Pelletier

Can mean that you havent actually connected your iPhone to your PC - as the driver for Apple will only show up when its connected - and then usually with a little yellow triangle

Ok so @ssa25 was mostly correct (or possibly how it worked for them) there were a few issues. But I do want to thank them for the tip because it did work even if there were a few issues. Now you said to look under Universal Serial Bus Controllers for the Apple Mobile Device USB, but there are 2 Universal Serial Bus sections. The first being the Bus Controllers, and the second being Universal Serial Bus Devices. That’s where you’ll find the Apple Mobile Device USB. However, as I mentioned the advice @ssa25 gave, wasn’t entirely wrong, as you can still fix the problem by fixing the components that have the triangle before them. But to actually find Apple Mobile Device USB, go under Universal Serial Bus Devices

Finally, if the new battery is defective, it could lead to communication issues beyond just power problems. To troubleshoot, try reseating the battery, performing a hard reset, or testing with the original battery to rule out the new one as the cause.
