@zachman9807 sounds like a software issue and not a hardware related problem. I'd try a reinstall of the OS after booting in safe mode and checking for any devices etc. that might be causing an issue.

i have a question if you are familiar with the EEE PC 1001HA? because i don't seem to have the ability to boot in to Safe Mode, and it runs windows XP by the way.
@mrchairmann just to make sure, for Windows XP to get into safe mode, once you see the black-and-white "Starting Windows" bar at the bottom of yourthe screen, you will have to repeatedly press the the F8 key until the Windows Advanced Options menu appears. Then you can select safe mode. Are you saying that you do not have that option? Do you still have access to your OS, I mean can you still use XP or are there any issues with it? Can you still access MSConfig?
@oldturkey03 hello...it's been a while i just want to update the situation, it turns out the laptop ran on Windows 7, i have no idea how it worked as it did but yeah checking the specs again it simply did not end up being worth even fixing sadly. can't even browse with it but at least i figured out the software side of things.
@mrchairmann yup. Sometimes there are just to many limitations that can't be overcome. See if you can install Ubuntu or another flavor of Linux on it and use it for email etc. :-)
Thanks or coming back and letting us know.
@oldturkey03 Gonna have to be light. Debian with a light UI or even Xubuntu.
