Announced on September 9, 2015, the iPad Mini 4 maintains the power of an iPad Air 2 in a smaller form factor.

New screen turns black

Hello!

So, I've removed the old screen, and battery has been unplugged when removing and inserting the new one. The new lcd/digitizer however turns black after about 10-15 seconds, just about when it's supposed to load the password screen. Tested with the old one again, works fine.

I have not soldered on the old sensor as I wanted to test the replacement screen first and I don't want to void the warranty. Home flex has been transferred.

Wondering how much this to do with removing the home button flex, and if any damage caused this

Tested first without home flex and then with. Same thing

New screen specification are same as old screen as old screen working find so only issue with new screen. Does new screen is fine or it may be faulty.

I'm not sure what you mean. If the old one works but not the new it must be the old screen that is faulty? That's my guess, but since I don't have any experience with iPad Mini 4, I thought maybe it's something else.

@ipadtransfer your not understanding what the question is? Because your answer is dead wrong!

I guess that old screen working fine even after removing new screen. So I just suggest that confirm that new screen is working fine or not. As there is no issue with older screen

You said tested with old screen working fine so i said it may be issue with new screen.

I would try to find a different screen at a local repair shop and see if they would let you try that one. I'm guessing that its the connector. Have you cleaned all of the connectors? If not I would clean them.

If you have any questions or concerns please comment below!! Thank you!

I have the same issue, I replaced the old broken screen with the new one, but when I press the power button the device trying to load for 10-15 seconds then the screen becomes black. If I press the power button for a long time the screen powered on again showing the power off option, but I can't turn it off by pressing the power button again. If I reinstall again the old screen, it is working fine without any issue.

I have checked 4 new screens all of them having the same issue. Should I use specific replacement screen for model no. A1538 to get it work?
