Used drill as a hammer now the clutch adjust is misaligned

Hey guys.

So i just unknowingly performed the biggest sin you can do with a cordless drill and used it as a hammer (about 3 medium to light hits) with my dads drill and now the clutch adjustment dial is thight when moving closer to the drill setting. Does anyone know if this is a easy fix or if i can do anything. My dad really likes the drill so i wanna repair it if at all possible.
