installing a new home button

I followed the 39 steps to replacing the home button in an iphone 4

When I finally got the step 39, I was a little dismayed.

There is really not any good final steps to finish the repair.

Does anyone have good pictures and/or description of seating the ribbon cable, positioning the switch?

Some questions

1. How can I be sure that when a removed the original cable, I got it all?

2. How far should the new cable be inserted into the opening for the connection?

Both the ifixit video and several others on line, get to the point of removing the ribbon cable and then stop.

Any help or hints will be appreciated.

Hi,

don´t be afraid. you have to open the little connector and pull out the cable.

After reinstall only put the cable in till the golden contacts are gone.

Close the connector, done ;)

Hope helped you
