Why does my ringtone volume turn itself down?

My ringtone volume on my brand new Alcatel One Touch Fierce XL keeps turning itself down. No, I am not hitting the volume buttons, I have been very careful to keep an eye on. My best friend bought the same phone and his does it too. How do I fix this?
