How do I replace the cooling fan?

The fan runs most of the time in a very loud and disturbing way.

I could still use the computer since everything works fine, but this noise of the fan is very disturbing. Therefore I would like to replace the fan by a new one.

That way I could still use my computer and wouldn't need to buy a new one.

Any ideas how this is done? Thanks!

Hi Chris,

I recently uploaded a repair guide for replacing the DC-in power jack of an ASUS 1001PX, which also shows how to remove the cooling fan. You find the guide here: ASUS Eee PC 1001PX Charging Socket Replacement

I suggest that you remove the fan and clean it first. Sometimes dust that has accumulated over time can be the issue. Or just buy a new fan, which you find here: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=10...

Steffen
