The keurig works fine if you only use water. As soon as you put a k cup itmakes noise but does not brew . I have cleaned every orfice on the unit, including blowing out hoses inside the unit,.Works great if you only want hot water. HELP STARTING TO SHAKE,,,

Nancy Standal I know you said you cleaned every nook and cranny but it sure sounds like the puncture needles are clogged. Double check those by using this guide.

I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the pictures. I had done everything (I thought) that Keurig said to do but they did not include pictures and I could not see the water flow opening. Thank you so much!

I have the same problem. I’ve taken it apart, completely removed the needle. Cleaned the entire piece inside and out . I could see clearly all the way thru the needle . Nothing in it or around it. Put it back together . Still won’t brew coffee, only water.
Also ran 4 oz of water thru the water tube

if your keurig will work with just hot water but will not work with a k cup inserted, the issue is the exit needle on the bottom. I just racked my brain for 3 days with this issue. i took the entire machine apart and then put it back together with no resolution. Wasn't until I put a paper clip thru the bottom needle that everything went back to normal....thank baby Jesus!
The reason the keurig was shutting off with a k cup inserted is because the water would enter the k cup but couldn't drain thru the bottom so all the grounds and water would back up into the top needle this causing the keurig to off (safety feature)

My issue is machine won’t make the 4 puncture on the k-cup lid. Makes the one in the center but machine can’t push into the pid to make the others so I get hot water. It’s like the plastic on the top is too strong. Only seems to be brands of tea K-cups not coffee. The coffee have more paper like covering. The tea is more hard plastic. Anyone else have this problem?

My machine doesn't have a lower needle, only the upper one. Is this needed? It will work if I just want hot water but as soon as I put a K cup in, nothing. I have a K10.

We’ve been putting off buying a new coffee maker because we’ve only had our a year. We’ve just been getting coffee when we get to work. Finally! I cleaned this whole thing through, and never realized the lower needle was clogged. You saved us more wasted time, and saved our coffee maker!

There are 2 possible problems. The first is you did not punch a hole in the bottom of the K cup when you inserted the K cup or it is clogged as previously mentioned. Most people just close the lid but if the plastic is too strong the needle may not make a hole. Press the cup down before you close the lid may help. Water can now go in on the K cup top and exit on the bottom hole. If this did not work, the air pump may be leaking. When the water is hot, the air pump fills the heater with air to push the water out. The air pump may be leaking and cannot push water thru the coffee but can push it when no cup is installed. Air pump may fail soon.

There has also been some cases of the pump failing or the water flow valve fails. Either case if the back pressure of the water becomes too great and the pump will stop flowing or the valve fails and direct the water into the overflow tank (hint). There is a process to open the Keurig then replace either of the failed item but this is an advanced work. There are several hidden clips which must be released to release the top cover. you need to remove the bottom plate Then inside is an array of pumps wires and tubes for you to analyze.

I finally figured out why mu keurig coffee pot won't take reg coffee and it says it will.After purchasing another new Keurig I figured it out..you have to pop out the lil cup from bott with your thumb then the filter cup works.i tried buying every color cause of the holes but nope I was setting up my new pot and bamb it popped right out so I can put my purple filter basket right in..duh!!
