There are 2 possible problems. The first is you did not punch a hole in the bottom of the K cup when you inserted the K cup. Most people just close the lid but if the plastic is too strong the needle may not make a hole. Press the cup down before you close the lid may help. Water can now go in on the K cup top and exit on the bottom hole. If this did not work, the air pump may be leaking. When the water is hot, the air pump fills the heater with air to push the water out. The air pump may be leaking and cannot push water thru the coffee but can push it when no cup is installed. Air pump may fail soon.
