The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (called the Note5) is a phablet-style phone with stylus, manufactured by Samsung, released in August 2015.

Replacing the front glass

I have the repair kit that came with my glass front. Do I have to take the phone apart to remove glass?

if the glass gets damaged, the easier and safer solution is to replace the complete screen assembly since the glass, digitizer and LCD screen are bonded together tightly by the help of very strong adhesive, and it is very hard to separate neither of them for individuals. Yet it is possible to remove the glass from the LCD, as long as you have special tools as well as professional skill. Otherwise, it is better to replace the whole assembly rather than just the glass. Also, to replace the screen assembly asks for phone teardown, you need to remove the back cover and mid-frame firstly.

You don't need to take it completely apart but you need to disassemble it enough to unplug the LCD and Digitizer connectors

that would be under the glass in the bottom or top?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

The LCD/Digitizer/Glass is all one piece. This solution is misleading.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

You will need to remove the back cover, the frame under the back cover, and then unplug the connectors. After that you can take off the LCD/Glass assembly

Did you just buy replacement glass? I don't believe it's possible to just replace the glass on the Note 5, i'd be extremely impressed if someone could.

This video covers a number of repairs including the screen:

Edit: As mentioned in my original post, it's not possible as Matt highlighted below without specialised equipment. You need the full LCD/Digitizer/Glass replacement. I'd advise you to return the one you purchased via Amazon.

Yes It was 14.99 on Amazon just the glass and tools for it.

You are going to have to buy one that also includes LCD... The tools needed to do "glass only" repairs on the galaxy and galaxy note series cost a few thousand dollars. Unless you are doing it in mass quantities it is more financially beneficial to do LCD and Glass together or else you will be wasting a lot of time and glass.

oh ic I have seen alot of phones that people replaced the glass note 4, I see people say just replace the whole thing b/c glass takes to long. I mean they wouldn't sell the glass if you couldn't do it right? this is what I got http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015ZIF...

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

No doubt it's possible but extremely difficult without specialist equipment like a hot plate to remove the glued on glass. Without something like that it would be incredibly difficult to remove the glass without it damaging the digitizer.

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

Just to put in my 2 cents: a hot plate itself is around 100 dollars. I don't know what tools are necessary that would cost even one thousand but that aside, it is a very difficult repair. Do not attempt. I'd like to see the amazon link though.
