I'm having trouble using the Bluetooth and connecting my two devices.

The most common problem with bluetooth connection is the device and the speaker are not paired correctly. Make sure the device is trying to connect with the speaker and not with any other devices. Also make sure the device isn't trying to connect with multiple devices, as that can prevent connection.

I would like to know if it is possible to run the Bose Soundlink II with a computer on Linux ?

This device is no longer supported by Bose so I cannot update. I cannot therefore connect by Bluetooth from my iPhone XR.
The XR port needs a lightening connector but I am unsure what jack I need at the other end to connect to the Bose Speaker
