Why does my 1999 Mazda protege 1.6 hesitate to go when i accelerate immediately after any immediate stop? Is it something to do with ignition coil? I did hear a spark noise from the ignition coil area when i checked. Please advice me.

The symptoms of a bad coil are misfire or backfire,engine stalling, hard starting and smelling fuel while trying to start, bad fuel mileage and not starting at all. If you are hearing a sparking coming from your coil its more apt to be bad ignition wires .I would start by checking plug wires and boots Hope this helps
