MacBook Pro charging issue

My macbook charger recently quit working properly on me. The tip has come apart and the wires are sticking out. It still worked but I would have to hold it in a certain position. Yesterday the wires sparked and my laptop powered off.

Here is the weird part:

the cord is pretty much 100% destroyed but if I hold it in the right position it may charge my laptop. But whenever I use a brand new charger it won't work at all. I have reset my pram smc and nothing has worked. I think the charger fried something in my laptop but it is weird cuz it can still charge if I hold the now completely separated wires in the right configuration.

Is it my dc adapter in? Has it been slightly fried? I can't use the charger anymore because it sparks and may be frying my laptop more. I need help!
