SSD instead of HDD

Hi,

My harddisk is stuck. Can I simply replace this old hard drive with a SSD? I read a lot about a dual harddrive/SSD, but is it also possible to have just a single SSD inside it? Every video or repair manual which I looked at always place it at the position of the optical drive as a second drive. If this is possible, where do I connect my thermal sensor?

Kind regards,

Kevin

If you're asking can you connect a drive someplace other than at the normal HD SATA port... it's possible - these include an SSD port on the logic board, no matter if you had an SSD as OEM or not, 'but it would be just as much work as to pull the main drive.

However if you had no SSD drive installed OEM there will be no bracket for an after-market SSD.

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it accepted.
