Backlight not working found fuse open circuit

I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012 with no working backlight. I was attempting a repair on the hinge when I dropped a screwdriver causing a short and blew the fuse (I think). So far I have tested with a multimeter and the fuse needs replacing, looking around I thought I needed a 0402 2A 32V fuse like the one found here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350819415063?s... but when it came it is much samller than the one on my logic board. Can anyone direct me to the correct size fuse?

Richard Nicholls, I strongly suggest that you give us the last four digits of your computers serial number. this will help us to properly identify your hardware. You should also post an image of the area and the part that you are trying to replace, that will let us see what you see. you may have the fuse to a different model, a different fuse for a different circuit or the part shorted out may not be a fuse at all

Thanks for the reply oldturkey03. The last 4 digits of my serial number are DTY3

Richard Nicholls, the fuse is a 3amp 32V SMD component in a 0603 package. Farnell in the UK has those that should fit Hope this helps, good luck.

Another satisfied customer, the repair worked! The hardest part was removing the defective fuse but got there in the end. Thanks.

Great job on your part. Those components are definitely a PITA but you got it done. Excellent!

Hi @oldturkey03, I just want to thank you. After inadvertently blowing my backlight fuse on a mid '12 13" MBP, I was able to diagnose and repair it after visiting several ifixit pages, all of which you had answered. So again, thank you!
