Remove RF module or just RF chip?

Question on RF module in XBox 360 E: to disable RF emission / reception, is it sufficient to remove the RF chip on the module, or should the WHOLE RF module be removed? Is there anything else RF-related on the module apart from the actual chip?

Thanks for any advice.

I am just a student working on these repair guides, but to the best of my knowledge, that RF module is the only RF related device in the Xbox. That module is the connection to the button board and can't be removed entirely. I also do not know how to remove or disable the RF chip alone. Our Xbox we get to work on is not functional, but maybe there is an option in the software to disable the RF.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. We were wondering f there might be some other RF-related item lurking in the box, but I guess not. It turns you can remove the module altogether, but then you have to start up the console using a wired controller since the button panel won't work any more.
