Can we update the software above iOS 5:1:1?

Is it possible to alter the motherboard to allow the ipad to update to iOS 7 ? Is there another way we could update the software ?

I don't think that the hardware on the iPad 1 would be able to run iOS 6 and certainly not iOS 7. Each version of iOS is more resource intensive. The iPad 1 would be very unstable running 6 or 7. I do not think that there is any way to force the iPad 1 to run iOS 6 - not even jailbreaking.

Good luck!
