The larger of Apple's MacBook Air laptops featuring dual microphones and 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity.

Replace 2013 MacBook air keyboard with 2012 model

I am looking at buying this model with spilled tea on the keyboard. It seems there are no internal hardware problems beacuse it works fine with an external screen. As far as i have read the 2013 13 inch model is a1466 parts externally. So could i buy a mid 2012 13 inch keyboard to replace it? Thanks!

There could be a lot more wrong than just the keyboard if the onboard display won't (display). Replacing just the keyboard is an advanced DIY repair replacing the entire top case would be much easier.

I believe the keyboards are the same, BUT the microphone connection on a 2012 is different to 2013-2017 models so you'll have issues if you try to replace the whole case. Here is a guide on how to change the keyboard alone MacBook Air 13" Early 2017 Keyboard Replacement
