I bought an iPod 3rd generation on ebay. The owner said they had replaced the battery at some point, but did not say when. Basically when i charge it, it does not register a charge at all at first. Then as I listen to it, the battery bar gradually goes up. The battery drains kinda fast too.

I bought an iPod 3rd generation on ebay. The owner said they had replaced the battery at some point, but did not say when. Basically it takes several hours to reach a full charge, and when it does, it drains in about an hour. Which I think is a little quick because my old ones did not drain that quick. does that mean it is dying? Or does this iPod drain the battery quicker? Plus i charge it on my iBook, and it charges even when they computer is not on? I found that odd. Does it charge better when the computer is on?
