Nabi Jr Troubleshooting

Device will not turn on at all.

If the device won’t turn on, charge it until fully charged. Once it is charged try to turn it on by pressing the power button.

After charging, if the Nabi Jr. still will not turn on, it is possible the battery is dead. If the battery is dead it will need to be replaced. (see battery replacement guide)

If the charger is broken or wire becomes sliced, you can buy another charger. If the device is still not charging then the charging port may be broken in which case it must be replaced. (see charging port replacement guide)

The screen is frozen and will not respond to anything.

If device is frozen and no action is working (pressing home button) hold down the power off switch and the home button at the same time until the device powers off. Turn it on after 30 seconds have passed to see of it is now in working condition.

If resetting the device as done in the previous solution doesn't work then let the battery run out. Charge the device fully and power it on. If this doesn't work then you may need to replace the motherboard. (see motherboard replacement guide)

The camera does not show anything.

The camera is a red cylinder that is located at the top of the device. The camera has a 180 degree pivot and can be pointed either toward the screen or away from it. Check that the camera is pointed in the direction you want to see. If this doesn’t solve the problem, try to access the camera through settings.

No audio is coming from device.

If no sound is coming from device make sure the volume is turned up (volume button is located on side of device) If buttons don’t work and are stuck try going to settings and locate the volume setting and adjust the volume this way. If this doesn’t fix the problem the speakers may need to be replaced. (see speaker replacement guide)

Make sure the audio jack is clean from dust and other particles. To test if the audio jack is working, plug in a working pair of headphones. If no sound is coming from the headphones then there is a problem with the audio jack and it needs to be replaced.

If no audio is coming from the speakers or headphones you may have a bad sound card (located on the motherboard). This likely means that the motherboard will need to be replaced. (see motherboard replacement guide)

There is no more memory left on the device.

Delete the unwanted files that are on the device to free up space in the storage.

If the device's storage is full, you can purchase a microSD card and insert it into the microSD card slot located on the left side of the Nabi Jr.
