What screwdriver do I need to open my Xbox Series X?
A Torx 8 (T8) or Torx Security (TR8) screwdriver can remove the standard torx screws securing the case and components inside the Xbox Series X console.
Standard Torx vs. Security Torx
The screws that hold together the Xbox Series X and Series S are standard torx screws. Security torx screws, found in Xbox controllers and PlayStation consoles, have a "dot" in the middle which prevent standard torx screwdrivers from fitting. If you plan on opening an Xbox controller you'll want a torx security screwdriver on hand.
