No Power or Charging Issues
The speaker will not power on or the device will not charge.
The charger is not working.
- Make sure that the USB cable, adapter charger, and power source are working correctly by trying different ones or trying to charge a different device.
The charger port is dirty.
- Clean the charging port with a toothpick or other small object or a tissue if it is wet.
The speaker is in need of a “hard reset.”
- Initiate a "hard reset" by simultaneously pressing and holding the volume up (+), volume down (-), Bluetooth, and power buttons for around 15 seconds. Power back up and see if the issue has been resolved.
The software is not up to date.
- One of the reasons why the lithium-ion batteries of your Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 speaker are not charging is because of a bug in its current software version. Try updating the software of the speaker then check if this fixes the problem.
The Speaker Turning Off by Itself
The speaker will periodically power off when in use.
Speaker is in need of a “hard reset.”
- Initiate a "hard reset" by simultaneously pressing and holding the volume up (+), volume down (-), Bluetooth, and power buttons for around 15 seconds. Power back up and see if the issue has been resolved.
Speaker is inadequately charged.
- Plug in the speaker for 2.5 hours into a wall outlet. Power back up and see if the issue has been resolved.
The battery is not working correctly.

Distorted Sound from the Speaker
The audio quality of the speaker sounds muffled.

- Initiate a "hard reset" by simultaneously pressing and holding the volume up (+), volume down (-), Bluetooth, and power buttons for around 15 seconds. Power back up and see if the issue has been resolved.
Move the audio source closer to the speaker.
- Move the device you are playing the music from closer to the speaker. This will ensure there is a good connection between the device and the speaker.

- Plug in the speaker for 2.5 hours into a wall outlet. Power back up and see if the issue has been resolved.
Muted Startup Sound
The startup sound does not sound, it instead powers up without sound.
Change speaker settings in app.
- To mute the speaker startup sound, download the UE BOOM app by Ultimate Ears in your phone's app store. In the app you can change all kinds of settings to your speaker such as the equalizer, volume, language, party-up mode (to connect multiple speakers), and start-up tone.
