Front screen will not turn on
When you start the stereo, the screen does not light up or turn on.
Restart the stereo
Try resetting the stereo by pressing the reset button located on the front of the device.
If this does not work, turn off your car, then turn it back on and see if that resolves the issue.
Replace the LCD
It is possible that the LCD bulb in the stereo's screen has expired. You can refer to our guide on how to replace the LCD.
Replace the motherboard
If replacing the LCD does not resolve the issue, then it is most likely the motherboard that is the issue. To do this you can follow the front screen motherboard repair guide.
Stereo will not turn on
No matter what you do, the stereo will not turn on.
Check the connections
Before trying to take apart your stereo, make sure all of your stereo's connections are wired in securely, ensuring its functionality.
Reset the stereo
Turn off your car, then turn it back on and see if the stereo responds now.
Replace the power supply
The power supply could have gone bad in your stereo. Please refer to our guide for replacing the power supply.
Replace the motherboard
If replacing the power supply did not fix the issue, then it is likely that the motherboard is causing the problem. Refer to our guide on replacing the motherboard in your stereo.
Can not insert a CD
You are unable to insert a new CD into the disk tray.
CD already in stereo
There may be a CD already in the tray. Press the eject button on the front display and remove the CD currently in the tray.
If this does not work, press the reset button located on the front of the screen, and see if that ejects the disk.
Another CD jammed in the tray
It is possible that there is another CD jammed into the disk tray. We have a guild on how to remove a jammed CD.
CD repeatedly ejects itself
You insert a new disk properly, but its automatically ejected.
Temperature too hot
If the ambient temperature reaches 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) or higher, then the stereo will not function properly. Leave the stereo off for a little bit, to let the parts sit and cool. After a few minutes, turn it back on and try inserting a disk again.
Two knobs on front of device are unresponsive
Turning either the volume or tuner knobs on the front of the stereo have no effect.
Reset stereo
Before replacing the knobs, try resetting the stereo by pressing the reset button on the front of the screen.
If this does not work, turn off your car completely, turn it back on, and then try the knobs again.
Music skips
The music from your CD skips.
Stereo angle too high
If your stereo is installed at an angle greater than 60 degrees, then is will cause your CD to skip. Re-install the stereo at an angle lower than 60 degrees.
Clean the disk
It is possible that your CD is dirty or defective. Clean the disk and then play it again.
Stereo will not play music
Stereo will not play music, or function properly.
CD inserted improperly
It is possible that that CD was inserted upside-down. Eject the CD and make sure it is inserted right-side-up, with the shiny part facing down.
Clean the CD
Your CD may not be read if it has an excessive amount of fingerprints or smudges on it. Clean the disk and insert it again to see if this helps the issue.
Turn up volume
Make sure the VOL knob is not turned all the way counter-clockwise. Turn the knob clock-wise to increase the volume.
Adjust fader control
Set the fader control to the center position for a two-speaker system.
Cancel the ATT function
Cancelling the ATT function can sometimes fix the issue as well. Adjust this by pressing the ATT button located on the front of the screen.
Checking or Replacing Audio cords
Checking to make sure the audio/in and audio/out plugs are input correctly. If this could be the problem please refer to our audio-in/audio-out replacement.

This one's easy. There isn't actually an aux input. There is a cd changer input. So either you get a cd changer or a aux dongle from eBay. Read up on Sony unilink bus

How do you fix the buttons that won't work? I have taken the face plate off...cleaned..twice....the buttons are not sticking. Now I have lost my radio stations and cannot get them back without working buttons
