Apple CarPlay Disconnecting
The device would randomly disconnect from newer iPhones leading to Apple CarPlay malfunctioning.
Siri Inactive
One of the main reasons for this problem is having Siri inactive. The stereo would not recognize the iPhone without Siri being active. To resolve this issue, the user should turn on Siri and make it active while the device is on.
Apple CarPlay General Settings
Most iPhones would have applied Apple CarPlay restrictions applied when the phone is new. This may prevent the device from recognizing the phone; thus, the user needs to adjust that through the phone's general settings. To do so, General -> Restrictions On My Phone -> Turn Off. This process should definitely resolve the issue.
Randomly Shuts Off
The device will be running smoothly and would suddenly shuts off when the device is on.
Overheating
Having the device in direct contact with sunlight will cause the device to overheat. You should make sure to install the device where there is any type of shade to prevent any expose to sunlight. In addition, try not to keep the device running for more than 5 hours, especially during long road trips.
USB Device Not Supported With New Apple Products
Whenever you try connecting your phone via USB lightning cable to the device, the system would not identified your device or Apple CarPlay would not be working properly.
The Use of Third-Party USB Lightning Cable
Make sure to use the original ordinary USB lightning cable made by Apple, because the last few years, Apple has been releasing updates of its IOS and changing the behavior of music playback over the wired connection. Therefore, using an original USB lightning cable would ultimately resolve this issue.
Black Screen When Using Android Auto
The screen would turn black whenever the user connects their phone through Android Auto.
USB Cables
A number of users noticed that the issue disappears whenever the user disconnects their Android phone from the USB that they are using. Try switching out your USB cable while using Android Auto. In addition, Sony has just released device updates, so make sure your device has the latest update.
Beeping Sound When Device is Off
The device would beep too long when the user switches it off.
Device General Settings
Although a lot of users may see this as an issue, Sony sees it as a feature. The device's default settings force it to produce a beeping sound whenever the user switches the device off. Sometimes this feature would not work properly, which can cause the device to beep for long period of time. To adjust this, simultaneously press the "SEL" or "SOUND" button and the "6" button on the head unit. Pressing these buttons would restore the beep function.

Hello all the functions work, but the screen stopped responding to touch. Try giving reset but continue with the problem. I can only use the remote control or the iphone to operate the unit. Any suggestions? Thank you

I’m having similar issues but it appears that it’s only when my iPhone is connected. Both the regular music that I have stored in my phone and YouTube music will begin to distort in sound and then the device will black screen. It usually restarts as if I powered the unit down and turned it back on without killing the power to my vehicle. I’ve also encountered it just looping around playing and restarting. Someone help me please.

My unit won’t play or display all of the files and/or folders on my USB stick while plugged in to usb2. I have the stick formatted to the right file system and the file types are supposed to be supported. Anyone else have this problem?

Adithya, can you clarify? I'm not sure if you mean that you are unable to physically find the USB port or do you mean that a device you plug in is not recognized.
Evan -
Physically I am not able to find the USB port, there is not any USB port in the front as well as back, but on the box and on the system is shows USB connectivity.
It supports apple carplay and Android auto but I am not able to use because of the absence of USB port.

When I am talking on the iPhone using CarPlay, the screen will freeze. At that time I cannot hear the person on the other end, and the radio becomes unusable until I unplug the USB cable.

While using satnav (apple maps or waze) the head unit seems to power down/up (no change in display though) and you get a thump through the speakers and sub…. How do you fix this?
