If your Shark Wandvac Power Pet WV410 leaves behind bits of dust and debris or you can feel a loss of suction when you place your hand on the opening, follow this troubleshooting guide for some tips.
Insufficient Battery Charge
There are a couple of reasons why the battery won't charge.
First, ensure the charging port is properly plugged into a functioning outlet. You cannot charge the vacuum if it does not have power going into it.
Another common issue is debris buildup in or around the charging port. This can be fixed by gently cleaning the charger with a cotton swab. It is important to make sure not to bend any of the pins.
An Object is Blocking the Flow of Air
Since the vacuum has only one small port to suck in dust and debris, it is possible that a larger object may get lodged inside, causing a loss in suction.
If you look right next to the charging port of the vacuum, you can see the opening where the vacuum sucks in dust and debris.
Look inside and clear any objects obstructing the opening, sweeping from left to right. Exercise caution as there may be sharp objects lodged in the opening. After that, you can clean the opening with a tissue or towel, wiping along the edges in a circular fashion.
The Filter is Clogged
One reason the suction is weak may be due to a clogged filter. To thoroughly clean the filter, you must first remove the filter. Follow this guide to learn how to remove the filter safely.
Tapping the filter lightly will remove any dust or debris stuck in it. Afterward, rinse the filter with water and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
You can purchase new filters on Amazon through this link or search for Shark Wandvac Power Pet WV410 Fabric Filters online.
The Motor is Clogged
When it comes to weak suction, a clogged motor will likely be the cause, as dust and debris can build up inside after long use.
Unlike cleaning the filter, the motor requires more effort to clean or inspect to look for blockages.
It’s recommended that you clean the filter first and any lodged object in the opening or any other problems listed on this page, as this problem will involve taking parts off the Shark Wandvac.
Battery Failure
If the battery life decreases significantly or fails to charge, it may be time for a new battery.
Order a replacement battery online. Ensure you order the Shark Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery Model XSBT420 for the right fit. Follow this guide, insert your new battery, and you’re ready to clean again!
