Similar problem here… camera worked for several months then dropped offline. It wouldn’t reconnect. I tried a factory reset but it cannot make it through the wifi setup stage. The yellow lights stays lit but the setup network never appears (DIRECT-CAM-XXXX).

Yellow light is as far as i can go….won’t connect after working for months aND MONTHS….so frustrating!

Cannot connect to wifi after firmware update. Updated on 3 cameras and now all 3 does not work. Tried resetting and adding as new camera, still nothing.
just4moomoo - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Same here, SmartCam has constant red light, powering it down and back up or resetting I can sometimes get blinking red. WiFi button will sometimes give yellow light, but the WiFi does not show on my phone’s WiFi list. I’m trying a direct Ethernet connection now, maybe that will help it access another firmware update?

Anyone have issues with the SmartCam cameras corrupting their flash drives to the point they can no longer be formatted, even on a PC? If so, how did you correct this?

I am having the same problem. Two SmartCam HD’s showing red LED, then after a few minutes will blink 6 times and then go back to red. Not responding to factory reset or wifi. So mad right now as these were working just fine. I have tried pretty much everything. However, limited info on the led codes. Has anyone found a fix for this issue?
Mick - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
mine also has same issues then i found the problem was the memory card is full..after remove it its back online..
if you have delete your camera you can add again with same step to adding new camera..hope this information can solve you problem..
indra_ssq -
indra_ssq keeps on saying it is the SD card - but I have the problem with or without one
John Gud - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
indra_ssq is right. Mine was working for more than 2 years, and got the solid red LED yesterday. Came across this thread and took the SD card out, reboot and it came back online. Turns out my SD card went bad, it couldn’t even be recognized by my PC.

Numerous problems and errors. Worked GREAT for a few months., then Wouldnt connect. Moved it to a room closer to the router. Connects now, but shows a triangle symbol on the screen , and it gives me motion alerts every few minutes in an empty room. I bouught a $25 Wyze that works much better so far. JS

How do I open the snh-6414bn? My micro SD card fell inside the back of the camera because a big gap between the back cover and SD slot. This can happen if you're not careful
Errol - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
I have spoken to SmartCam. they were sold to another company who then did a firmware upgrade which knocked out the rerecording functionality of the cameras. My cameras work for a day or two then tell me to format the sd cars. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Same issue. Remove the microsd. Nothing works and I just got two cameras for less than 2 weeks.
zzero_thl - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
So I also couldn’t connect to wifi after firmware update several months ago. I took out the SD card, tried resetting, still just a solid red light. Checked my SD card and it was EMPTY other than the original files!!!! I tried doing the wireless reset button, nothing…
This is insane!!! Did Samsung fix this??? These are $250 cameras!
Jedi - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
I started a couple of weeks back, I noticed the green led was lit, and I had to turn it off every single day manually and then I had the same issue, red light stays on and can not connect.
I tried to reset, connect to wifi, didn’t show up in wifi-list.
Then I turned it off and removed the SD-card.
Powered it on and it was back to normal, don’t know for how long this will work.

Jennifer Freeman - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Smart Cam says no Event but it is recording on memory card how can I fix it.
Jennifer Freeman - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Follow these steps in order. I had same issue. got the camera working again.
1. While camera connected to the power, Remove SD card ( you may notice all the night red light comes on in the camera) and press/hold reset button for few seconds. Now unplug the power to the camera. Reconnect the power. When the red light is on, press wifi button for 5 seconds. light will turn yellow/green. From your smartphone, and smartcam app (make sure data connection is switched off on your mobile phone)., follow next steps in the app to configure the camera and connecting camera to your home wifi. GOOD LUCK

I’ve tried everything I can think of…all suggestions from around the web. I’m now convinced these are just garbage cameras. One of them never worked properly from the day I got it. To be more exact, it worked up until the first time I rebooted it. And then it never came back to life. Solid red light always and forever. IF you happen to buy your camera from CostCo, even though there’s no warranty on it, CostCo would likely take it back and give you a comparable replacement. They have VERY generous return policies for their customers.

I can’t delete events from my SmartCam. Every time I delete one, it comes back after I refresh it. Does this problem have an easy fix?

I have 2 cameras and they started making very strong buzzing noise.
How to fix it please?
Saigar Trans - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
I had the same issue. So I figured after reading all these comments the camera was dead, and I was just going to order a replacement one. This particular camera I was having trouble with was in my kitchen, so I decided to take a camera from a part of the house with less traffic, put it where the malfunctioning one was, and put the replacement camera back in the empty spot. When I moved cameras I used the same plug that was in the malfunctioning camera. Wouldn’t you know it, the working camera had a solid red light on it now. And I said to myself, “Well f**k, did I just break this one?” I put it back in it’s original less traffic spot area, with it’s original plug and it started working again. So I went into my massive tupperware of cables and wall adapters, and busted out a brand new 10 ft USB cable, and a different wall adapter, hooked it up to the malfunctioning camera, and the red light turned from red, to blue (booting up), and then to green, and started working.
TL:DR - Replace your cable / wall adapter
chris.jeweler - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
THIS ANSWER WORKED - REPLACE WALL USB ADAPTOR
I replaced the plug/USB adaptor with a basic 5W iPhone charger and it works fine.
Before replacing the plug, the stock adapter would let the camera boot up to a solid red light for about 5 seconds, then the IR lights would flash, the status red light would blink, and it would reboot. The wifi button and reset button didn’t do anything.
Replacing the USB plug (not the cable, just the plug) worked fine.

How to fix red light in Samsung SmartCam SNH-E6431BN:
If the light stays red, and reset button doesn’t help, try replacing its weak power adapter with a better one. I noticed the original "SoluM" (white, flat) adapter was too weak to charge a small iphone 4. I tried another USB power adapter from an old phone, and camera works.
1TM - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Wow! Me too. So many comments. A few possible solutions but none that worked for me. Just buy cheap and current if possible and be ready to replace your firmware based stuff at any moment. That includes refrigerators and washing machines.
Bruce Babcock - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Success, It was working perfectly for months then it happened. It started around the time that the wifi router had to be changed. The camera just stopped working even with new wifi information. So I eventually came to this wiki. I tried two different cables and 3 adapters and it did not fix the issue. Tried three different wall plugs too. I also tried the suggestion to remove microSD and replace it with a new one, that did not break the sequence. The camera was behaving in this sequence, which was flashing red light when powered up, then pressed wifi button hoping for a yellow light (it did not come on) but instead a solid red light forever. To break the continuous red light, it made sense to press wifi again just one second was enough. Then camera flashed blue 6 times. Appeared on phone wifi. By the time I entered password in the SmartCam app, it was already back to flashing red again. This happened over and over again without fail. Finally went to Customer service who asked me
blue sky - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
to repeat my sequence. Then asked me to press reset 5 seconds. Repeated sequence. Choice to replace unit or send in for repair (solid red light indicates bad processor. Then customer service advised one more step to finish on my own. if it failed to call back for unit repair. Powered off unit by disconnecting cable and waited one minute. then reconnected cable. Once it was flashing red, he asked me to remove the micro SD card. The red light kept flashing as normal. Then he asked me to pull the cable. I was asked to wait 30 minutes at least and connect the device again with no micro SD card. I waited about 45 minutes and then plugged it in. The sequence of the camera was flashing red light, pressing wifi button for 5 seconds. solid blue light (yellow light never appeared), camera appeared in the app, connected camera directly to phone, entered wifi information, and the camera started working as normal with solid connect light. I then re-entered the SD card and four days later it is still working!

Well, 7 months later the two other cameras went offline suddenly. So a soft reset and a hard reset did nothing at all. Solid red light all the way through over and over and again and again and then flashing red light, then pressing wifi button led to flashing blue light. No yellow light at any point (it never came at any point). So I followed the procedure above and lo and behold one camera came back to life. Of course, l deleted camera from the app and reinstalled it.
For the second camera, the exact same procedure noted above initially did not work. I was 2 for 2 before this. Finally, the process did work after I changed the plug-in adapter and used a new cable. I deleted it from app and reinstalled it and its working.

I have problem in my smart cam the Cam stopped in the red light how can I solve the problems
Malek Nasr - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Try powering off unit by disconnecting cable. Wait at least one minute. Reconnect. Once flashing red, remove micro-SD card. Red light should keep flashing. Then pull power cable. Leave unit for at least 30 minutes. Then plug cable again. Then follow-set-up instructions - wifi button for 5 seconds, yellow light, connect camera to phone app, enter wifi information, camera should be working again.

CAM was working for 2 years and then suddenly stops recording anything. I bought a new SD card hoping this would rectify the issue. Took SD card out and reset. Can view live cam now but as soon ad I insert new SD card it stops and starts flashing red/blue. Also if failing to register CAM on wifi list, disable auto join on your wifi and the CAM should appear in wifi list….tried this and it worked. Just a shame it wont record on SD. Waste of a camera really because It won’t record now! I have three others around the property and if they all stop working like this one then thats nearly £600 wasted!
Sy Sy - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Bluesky2, I had hope that this would work, but alas, this POS camera seems to be toast. I have removed the micro SD card, I have changed adapters, I have changed power cords, I have held the reset button for upwards of 2 minutes, I have held down the WiFi direct button for upwards of 2 minutes. Nothing will get this SNH-V6414BN camera off of the solid red light. Of course, they no longer make this model and offer ZERO support, This experience has completely soured me to any Samsung products.
Kat K - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
Try a bigger USB power adapter as some cams need nothing less than a 20W ipad adapter. Some still work with a 5W iphone adapter. Also try to have wifi router in “line of sight” for a better signal.

I have same issue. I pulled the SD card and reformatted it but it did not help. I am wishing I never bought Samsung cams.
Bill Hatcher - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0
* MY SOLUTION * I tried using a power adapter from my other camera that is still functioning correctly, and the camera now works. So, the problem maybe caused by the faulty (degraded) power supply. So, maybe stop by the local electrical shop and pick up a generic power supply with the proper polarity and output Volts and Ampere to try. Positive center, negative outside. Output 5.0V and 2.2A (2,200 mA). Good luck!

Unfortunately they stopped supporting it... You can still access live feed via rtsp and still pic from http within your home network. I wonder if we can still access the smart cam for configuration change without going thru the app?
