Can't Connect to the App
Poor signal between speaker and phone
Update Software/Firmware
Make sure that both the phone software and the device firmware is up to date. You can make sure the app is updated through either the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, depending on your respective platform.
The firmware can be updated manually by downloading it from this support page, under "DOWNLOADS" in the "SEE MORE" section.
Factory Reset
You can try to reset the device to factory settings. Press and hold the plus and minus volume buttons until a purple indicator begins to flash. The device should reset and reboot. If issues still persist, try updating the firmware once more after this reset.
Router Upgrade
If both a software update and factory reset fail, you can try to upgrade your router and improve the quality of your Wi-Fi connection. Before seeing if this is necessary, try disconnecting any unneeded devices from your network, and make sure other devices can access it properly. If this does not fix the problem, it may be necessary to purchase a newer, better router with “5 GHz” or “Dual Band” capability.
Won't Turn On
Power not coming to the device
Defective Power Port
The power plug should be plugged into a wall outlet. Check to see if the cable is damaged. Check if the power port is properly connected. If it still does not work, consider replacing the Micro-USB/Power Port Panel.
Defective Micro-USB Port
Make sure you have the Micro-USB plugged inside the Micro-USB port. Check to see if the Micro-USB cable is damaged or broken. Check if the plug in port is properly connected. If it still does not work, consider replacing the Micro-USB/Power Port Panel.
Water Damage
Water damage can cause the motherboard to fail. If you think your speaker may have water damage, try to wipe the motherboard with a dry cloth, and power it on (for help accessing motherboard, check out Motherboard Replacement guide). Some devices shutdown when a short is detected, so after a quick dry the device will turn on. If the device still does not turn on, then consider replacing the motherboard.
Touch Panel Doesn't Work
Faulty touch panel
Static Electricity
Static electricity may be interfering with the device, causing the touch panel to malfunction. Disconnect the power plug and connect it again to try and solve this problem.
Faulty Touch Panel
If the touch panel still does not work, it may be a defective part. Consider purchasing a replacement touch panel.
Single Speaker and Device Connectivity Issues
Speaker won't connect to phone/computer
Out of Range
If your device does not recognize your speaker, try moving speaker within 10 meters of device, as this is the max range the Bluetooth can support.
Signal Interference
If your device locates the speaker, but you notice streaming cut-off or lag, try placing speaker out of the way of obstacles (ie. walls, trees, metal structures). Such things interfere with the communication between your device and the speaker.
Bad Bluetooth Module
If after troubleshooting your device still does not respond to your speaker's presence, you may have a faulty bluetooth module. Proceed to the replacement guide.
Muffled Low Frequencies
Bass on the device sounds poor/muffled
Subwoofer blockage
Check that the space between the subwoofer and base of the speaker is clear of any objects; the lodging of unwanted objects in this area suppresses subwoofer vibrations.
Bass Heavy and Loose Subwoofer
Avoid playing audio with extremely low frequencies. This is typically not a problem, unless your device has an internal issue with the subwoofer, such as the subwoofer not being well attached to the base. In this case, the heavy vibrations can cause further problems to the speaker, as well as low quality bass reproduction.
Faulty Subwoofer
If after troubleshooting you still experience low quality sound reproduction at low frequencies, you may have a faulty subwoofer. In this case, proceed to our replacement/repair guide.

My Samsung r3 used to connect to my phone however it doesn’t show up on my phone anymore when trying to connect. It still functions fine when Bluetooth connecting to any other device but in regards to my phone it won’t show up. I have already tried forgetting the device and restoring the r3’s settings

After resetting my Samsung R3, I was unable to setup the Wifi. Although the speaker is recognised, it fails to finalize the setup after entering the Wifi password. Bluetooth still works, but Wifi isn’t.

I had trouble connecting my R3 with iphone and pc multiroom app and then tried android version. This version allows me to select network router - i was able to specify the 5ghz network which connected to speaker. I must have tried 30 time previously to make it connect. What a POS !!!

I though I would throw this out there since I have not seen a fix for it. My problem was Bluetooth worked fin, but when I replaced my Wifi it would not longer connect. I was able to get my R3 and R5 working correctly again. My fix was simple I used a Samsung Android tablet. I spent a couple of hours trying to get it to work with from my iPhone and iPad. Resolution: I switched my Samsung Galaxy Tab 6 and had both speakers up and running in less then 2 minutes.
The iPad/iPhone version of Multiroom would find the speaker, then ask me to enter my Wifi password, and it not configure. It would then prompt me to connect to the speaker itself via Wifi to try to configure. The iPhone/iPad would connect to the speaker via Wifi, but then when you go back to the multiroom application it would not recognize that it was connected.

Please UPDATE the Apple version to get it to work with WiFi

My samsung r3 speaker stopped working magically one day and now neither the wifi connection nor the bluethoot connection works and I tried the multiroom application from my samsung s8 and my ipad and I didn't get a solution. It has already happened to me once but also magically one day it solved itself, except that this time it does not happen :(

I hate when I have a problem and go online and NO ONE says how they fix the problem. I think the apps (Multiroom) no longer functions. If yours do well congrats. (I mean by finding the speaker.) My fix was doing a reset (+ and - at the same time) and my Samsung TV just found it. It had to do the connection twice but it then showed up in the app (android). I tried a hundred times to get WiFi working. I also want to say when I was trying my tablet would just ring and try to set it up also. I also have a Samsung Android tablet.
Resolution: I switched my Samsung TV speakers up and running in less then 2 minutes.
I know this is not a good fix for everyone because not everyone has a Samsung TV as well. I just wanted to let people know a different workaround.
Also if you have a WiFi6 router (Mesh or whatever) it definitely wont connect. This thing is old school. I assumed WiFi 6 was backwards compatible but I guess NOT.

I was losing my mind trying to figure out why my wifi password would not work to connect my r5 to the internet….typed it in many times and it fails every time. I have about 20 other devices connected successfullly, but not this samsung multi room app. so annoying
